Background: The interleukin-7 receptor is a protein that exists on the surface of cells. The protein is a heterodimer composed of two subunits: interleukin-7 receptor subunit alpha (IL-7RA, CD127) and common-γ chain receptor (CD132). The interleukin-7 receptor is expressed on a variety of cell types, including naive and memory T cells, among many others. The interleukin-7 receptor has been found to be crucial in lymphocyte development.

T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia, multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, and juvenile idiopathic arthritis are among the disorders linked to the Interleukin-7 receptor.
